Training Analysis and Feedback Facility (TAFF) Manager (TAFF MGR)

Primary Location: Fort Polk, LA
Must be a U.S Citizen
Security Clearance: Secret
Must have military experience

Summary:

The primary mission of the TAFF manager is to conduct administrative information flow from the exercise director and OCTs to the role players during VALEXs. They provide pointed, top-down view of the training unit's performance. The TAFF shall administer a facilitated AAR per training event, capturing trends by phase and MSEL. The TAFF will be responsible for compiling these trends from multiple means (see below) on both open and closed systems. Additionally, the TAFF will be responsible for generating Take Home Packets, which are designed to provide the training units with consolidated AAR products to drive home-station training and lessons learned. The Take Home Packet is due prior to the SFAB's S3s departure from the training exercise NLT than three days after completion of the exercise. The TAFF MGR will participate in all relevant training development meetings, in-process reviews, working groups, etc. when on duty in preparation for, execution of, and recovery from exercises. The 353rd, and High Command (HICON) must be sanitized to ensure no spillage occurs. The TAFF will be responsible for but not limited to the below:

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Formalized AAR
  • Audio/Visual products
  • Executive Summary to verbalize training highlights and training deficiencies to help guide future planning efforts.
  • Reviews and comparison of doctrine and/or SOPs compared to the training unit's actions.
  • Review FM/HF/ITN conversations and chats.
  • Take digital snap shots of SIMs, COPs, Commanders Update Assessments, Battle Update Assessment, orders, and other graphics.
  • Direct Observer Coach, and Trainers (OC/Ts) to record similar events simultaneously.
  • Use MSELs and story Boards to describe what was supposed to happen.
  • Video engagements and photos using a cell phone from the training audience and their review.
  • The following products are due to the exercise director within the following deadlines:
  • Battle Narration of phase or MSEL are due within 6 hours from the end of the event.
  • All products are reviewed by the 353rd.

Minimum Qualifications:

SECRET Clearance

Effective multi-tasking skills, and the ability to work cooperatively with others in a dynamic environment

Willing to travel up for two four-week periods within CONUS each year (targeting AUG-SEP and FEB-MAR)

Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/SharePoint)

Excellent communication skills and comfortable engaging senior US military personnel

Must maintain current driver's license

At least two (2) years of military or civilian experience commensurate with management of all aspects of this position description.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from accredited institution

Extensive knowledge of Army Doctrine (Brigade level and below); experience on a battalion or brigade level staff

Completion of ILE/CGSC/SLC

Familiar with the mission of the 3-353rd BN

Recent deployment experience

Transition Team Experience (Europe, Middle East, North Africa)
