Reporting to the Operations Manager/Transportation Manager, the Driver I drives, loads, and unloads Class C (bobtail) vehicles during the course of O&I moves and related services. Lifts, carries and/or pushes furniture, equipment, and cartons on wheels or in hand to and from trucks, offices and warehouses as requested by the customer. Responsible to load and unload trucks from loading dock, using ramps or lift-gates. May assist in setting & offsetting goods on equipment. Responsible to produce a quality move for the customer. Assists the move process by communicating with supervisors, end users/customer and other crewmembers.

This position is also responsible for reporting and escalating any related issues about the job to the Lead Foreman, Supervisor or Project Manager. Typically obtains daily site work role assignments from the Lead Foreman, Driver Foreman, Supervisor, Project Manager or Account Manager, however, has a dotted line to the Dispatcher, Operations Supervisor and directly reports to the Operations Manager/Transportation Manager.

In addition, this position will use extreme care not to damage goods or facilities during the move, while adhering to all company processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Driver:

1. Checks for start time (for next day's work schedule) with dispatch daily.

2. Performs pre-trip check and safely drives vehicles up to and including Class C bobtails.

3. Sets, offsets, pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, and moves furniture, equipment and boxes as required.

4. Properly loads and unloads trucks from loading dock, using ramps or lift-gates, to protect goods being moved.

5. Completes assigned paperwork accurately and neatly and turns into dispatch daily.

6. Must be respectful of rules at each customer site as to where to work and adhere to meal and rest period locations.

7. Must follow all confidentiality rules with regards to any products or services that are visible at the move site.

Safety:

1. Performs work with quality, efficiency, and safety at all times.

2. Must abide by all safety rules; to include proper safety gear (back braces, safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hats, masks and/or gloves, etc. as required by the customer or by law), drive forklifts safely (seatbelt, slow speeds, ensuring trucks are chalked, coned, and using proper plates, etc.).

3. Ensures passengers wear seatbelts.

4. Report any unsafe dangerous requests from customers to senior management.

5. Report any accidents immediately in Driveroo VIR Software and by contacting dispatch immediately.

6. Responsible to ensure he/she never backs up the truck without a spotter helping to assist in the blind areas.

Maintenance:

1. Assist Driver II with proactive maintenance of all equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.

Customer Relations:

1. Maintain excellent customer service with the customers, transportation, and warehouse teams to establish solid relationships.

2. Must be punctual at all times. If an emergency arises, inform the supervisor and warehouse manager immediately, so that appropriate coverage can be arranged.

3. Must work cooperatively with members of the crew.

4. Must be courteous, helpful, and professional to all existing and potential customers.

Other duties:

1. Arrives at Corovan dispatch office (or on-site), in complete uniform every day.

2. Obtains daily work assignments from dispatch or supervisor and stays in work assignment until relieved.

3. Sign timesheets daily signifying your start, meal periods and end time daily, and other documentation is completed accurately and turned in by the time requirement.

4. Promote Corovan's Mission and Vision Statements.

5. Continuously promotes compliance with company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

COMPETENCIES:

2. LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents written in

English such as procedures, manuals, work orders, inventories, work instructions, and timesheets. Must be able to efficiently communicate with customers and coworkers.

3. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to formulate in square feet. Ability to read and correctly interpret the legend on installation drawings and read both standard and metric tape measures.

4. REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

5. LEADERSHIP - Strong interpersonal, training and leadership skills. Ability to motivate crew to accomplish objectives.

6. COMMUNICATION SKILLS - Ability to effectively communicate with potentially stressful and/or emotional situations. Ability to read and interpret documents written in English such as procedures, work instructions, and timesheets. Must effectively communicate well with customers and coworkers.

7. OTHER DUTIES:

    1. Able to work independently.
    2. Comfortable working with customers as well as sales, accounting, warehouse, and other departments.
    3. Must be familiar with various moving equipment and proper usage such as Class C bobtail trucks, pack vans, golf carts, and passenger vans, dollies, carts, pads, straps, pallet jacks, forklifts, ramps, lift gates, and all specialty equipment including but not limited to roll-a-lifts, Genie lifts safe jacks, J bars, etc.
    4. Ability to handle and safeguard sensitive and confidential information required.
    5. Ability to operate all forklift types - Able to move vaults, palletized product, and loose product onto or off of trucks, or within the warehouse when directed by a supervisor
    6. Must be able to read and correctly interpret current warehouse and transportation work orders and bills of lading.
    7. Must have basic knowledge and understanding of company concepts, practices, and procedures and an understanding of safety and security protocols.
    8. Must be able to use good judgement to complete work assignments.
    9. Use of proper lifting techniques required.
    10. Use of proper safety equipment required.
    11. Must participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program and Random Drug Testing Program
    12. Must complete Mover I & II, and Driver I Level Corovan University training and pass the written tests. May also be required to pass Installer I, II, and III.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required; or equivalent experience.

2. Two to three (2-3) years' experience in a commercial office moving, or warehouse environment preferred.

3. One to two (1-2) years' driver experience in a warehouse environment preferred.

4. Valid California Class C driver's license is required.

5. Minimum age 21 to qualify for company vehicle insurance.

6. Valid driving record that meets the company's insurance carrier's requirements.

7. Preferred valid forklift certification, but not required.

8. Demonstration of experience providing leadership or guidance to other employees in a labor-oriented environment preferred.

PRIMARY LOCATION:

Orange County. Various job sites and customer locations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individuals are required to be able to sit or stand for long periods as needed throughout the day.

1. Walking: May require walking primarily on a level surface but may include walking on uneven or inclined surfaces for lengthy periods throughout the day, often up and down stairs.

2. Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.

3. Lifting: Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 75 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 150 pounds throughout the day. Pushing or pulling assignment may need to be done with inclines. May also include climbing or descending stairs while carrying goods up to 50 pounds.

4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction, reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required.

5. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.

6. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.

7. Vision: Reads paperwork and records on the computer.

8. Talking: Communications by phone, email, text and in person.

9. Sitting: May be required to sit at desk or in a truck. May sit for long periods of time.

10. Stairs: May also include climbing or descending stairs while carrying goods up to 50 pounds.

11. Heights: May include working at height on a loading dock up, or on a lift-gate.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing, assembly, and construction areas and under certain conditions require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields, hard hats, masks, gloves and/or hearing protection. Temp/Weather: Works in either 1) Office environment - for the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment, and 2) Warehouse - may be exposed to cold or hot temperatures, and 3) Outside - may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and hot or cold conditions.

2. Noise: Works in office, warehouse, during construction or outside environment, with constant or intermittent noise.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

1. Variable hours, regular position, part time non-exempt.

2. Employees might be required to work late evenings or weekends depending on the business needs.

3. All Overtime must be approved by manager before working.

TRAVEL:

This position requires travel around the local area, depending upon customer assignment.
