Description

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with frontline management.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for vacant staff level positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; training and development and terminations, data entry and reporting support in HRIS applications.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring and escalating complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Supports University relationships and recruiting efforts; attends job fairs and enhances company branding initiatives on partnering campuses. Plan and implement annual Internship Program.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Run special projects and create process improvements, e.g. revamping Armada's First Day Orientation for New Hires.
  • Support and coordinate internal communications about talent/performance management programs.
  • Create standard operating procedures, or other tools, materials, and procedures to assist with execution and implementation; examples include project plans, quick reference guides, assessments, surveys, communications.
  • Create a positive user experience with the company's technological systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • High level of computer proficiency in MS Office suite and HRIS.
  • Advanced experience providing customers with technical support, trouble shooting and guidance with technological systems or human capital management software.
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the full HR cycle: performance management, consulting and mentoring, talent management, development, reward and retention, employee relations, and employee engagement.
  • Inherent customer service mentality.

Education, Experience, and Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 1-3 years of work experience in the Human Resources field.
  • Reside in the Greater Pittsburgh area, allowing for some flexibly scheduled in-office work time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
