Summary

The position, Application Technical Lead, provides highly skilled technical expertise in business application architecture and support. They support, consult and collaborate with the application analyst, development, infrastructure, and project teams, as well as business stakeholders to provide a high degree of system reliability, availability, and performance for both new and existing applications.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Acts as a technical focal point to communicate activities and status within their assigned application portfolio.
  • Provides technical leadership in application architecture, processes, and standards to both application support and project teams.
  • Responsible for any development activities within their portfolio and ensures compliance with standards for consistency of coding.
  • Recognizes code, process, and/or standard inefficiencies and suggests new standards and opportunities for improvement.
  • Responds to questions and resolves issues by providing technical support for production applications, including high-impact production issues.
  • Validates requirements, performs analysis, design, programming, testing, documentation, and support for assigned projects to drive application changes.
  • Engaged in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including client interactions, requirements gathering, application design, development, testing, debugging, deployment, maintenance, and enhancements.
  • Participates in the investigation of opportunities for application improvements and makes recommendations. May consult software vendors and current users in these evaluations.
  • Acquires and utilizes strong technical and/or application knowledge to independently produce deliverables and recognize the impact (e.g., design documentation, system changes).
  • Demonstrates versatility of knowledge and applies strong technical skill base to contribute to any application (including those outside the application area).
  • Manages 3rd party relationships and monitor performance as required.
  • Proactively shares technical knowledge to cross-train other team members.


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related IT/business field.
  • 7+ years of experience providing technical support to key business applications.
  • 5+ years' technical experience with Blue Yonder (Red Prairie/JDA) Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Understanding of the Blue Yonder architecture, use of technical languages, and technology stack
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and skills
  • EDI (ASN) Experience
  • Understanding of supply chain/warehousing business processes
  • Experience with middleware and integrations
  • Expertise with cloud (SaaS) and on-premise solutions
  • Possesses strong technical aptitude.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Demonstrates a high commitment to quality.

  • Ability to inspire and develop staff.
  • Possesses flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Deep understanding of how application technology supports business processes across portfolio.

  • Ability to solve complex problems independently and to seek out and generate innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of multiple teams on overlapping projects.


Preferred Skills

  • Hands on experience providing technical support to Armada specific applications (JDE, WMS, UKG, etc.).
  • Business application project experience
  • Knowledge and experience with integrations, middleware, and EDI.
