RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the effective management of all functions, including warehouse, stock and systems, health and safety, facilities, HR and Finance operation.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the ongoing operation consistently exceeds the customer's requirements both in terms of service to customers, budgeted financial goals, KPIs and operational standards.
  • Providing leadership, motivation and career development to the site management team, ensuring that they achieve excellence on a day-to-day basis.
  • Responsible for driving high levels of employee engagement and maintaining the sites excellent reputation within the local community.
  • Participating in and delivering facility tours.
  • Coaching and Counseling and development of operations associates.
  • Participating in the preparation of budgets, capital expenditures, operating expense controls, and inventory performance.
  • Working with other GM's to prioritize capital projects and ensure all projects are completed on time and in budget.
  • Managing the activities of external service providers, contract maintenance, etc.
  • Reviewing operations reports and other information in order to make effective decisions
  • Interfacing with corporate partners in Supply Planning, Customer Service, Finance, and Human Resources to identify business opportunities and resolve issues.
  • Performing GEMBA walks to identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Building a high-functioning and collaborative team that works together to drive results.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operations Managers, Compliance Manager, Operations Support Manager, Promotions Manager, and Inventory Control Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable delivering facility tours and delivering information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to make decisions and give clear direction
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse operations
  • Comfortable handling conflict resolution
  • Handling of multiple conflicting priorities
  • Supply Chain operations experience
  • Excellent management and organizational skills
  • Proven track record of leading quality teams
  • Ability to triage and drive continuous improvement
  • Comfortable being out on the warehouse floor and engaging with employees

Desired

  • Experience with JDE a plus
  • Capacity/Supply Planning Tools
  • Forecasting knowledge
  • WMS/LMS, Red Prairie/Blue Yonder a plus
  • Experience working with Labor Standards
  • Experience working in food-grade distribution
Education and Experience Requirement

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related work experience
  • Ten to fifteen years of Warehouse Management experience in a fast-paced environment of comparable size and activity level, preferably with some exposure to food distribution
  • Experience with RF/bar coding and Warehouse Management Systems

Preferred

  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • Experience with Red Prairie Warehouse Management System
  • Experience with JD Edwards One World
  • Experience with cross docking operation

Language and Technical Skills requirement

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Excellent Analytical Skills .
  • Excellent Written & Oral Communication Skills
  • Self Directed and Able to Work in Dynamic & Evolving Environment
  • Ability to Work Effectively in Cross Functional Teams

  • Work is usually performed in an office environment with normal noise levels. Involves prolonged sitting, and computer usage.
  • Work may require a lot of walking and engaging for extended periods of time in temperature-controlled environments of 37 degrees or sub-zero temperatures. Appropriate protective gear would be provided.
  • Work may involve some travel and visits to Corporate Office.
