SUMMARY

Reporting to the CIO, the Director of IT Infrastructure is responsible for determining current and future enterprise infrastructure needs to meet Armada's objectives. The role provides oversight and is also hands on to ensure appropriate processing (servers, hypervisor, storage, cloud services), networking (WAN, LAN, VPN), adhering to security policies and procedures. The position requires the ability to communicate with the subject matter experts in the various disciplines and also relay that information in a non-technical manner to senior management.

This role will lead a team of systems analysts and network engineers both internally staffed and third-party resources, and work in close collaboration with the other departments of Information Technology, including Cyber Security, Applications, Architecture, Business Intelligence, and Support Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage IT Infrastructure resources:
    • Drafting and execute department budget
    • Developing its organization structure
    • Cultivate technical knowledge in the team
  • Optimize costs of organization-wide infrastructure and application services through an appropriate mix of internal and external resources and strategic partnerships
  • Develop and execute the department roadmap with respect to network, servers, and cloud resources
  • Evaluate best practice guidelines for core infrastructure technologies - Linux, Windows, Hypervisors, Networks
  • Oversee the design, specification, configuration, installation, and maintenance of local area network (wired and Wi-Fi), wide area network, telecommunications services, and internet service providers
  • Provide support for execution environment including deployment, backup, and disaster recovery processes
  • Ensure foundational components are configured to provide consistent high performance and availability
  • Participate in IT Leadership discussions with respect of improvements in systems, processes, and policies
  • Assist Cyber Security Team in implementation and administration of tools used for network micro segmentation, vulnerability scans, malware protection
  • Adhere to corporate practices for system patching and updates
  • Ensure vulnerabilities in core infrastructure resources are addressed in accordance to corporate policy
  • Ensure all systems are maintained to vendor supported levels
  • Promote the use of innovative technologies that will provide benefits to the organization including automation of administration
  • Monitor the overall health and availability of Armada's systems to ensure availability of the technology platform within compliance with service level agreements
  • Ensure team provides off hour support 24x7 for all disciplines
  • Research and make recommendations on hardware and software purchases, and negotiate with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions
  • Effectively communicate IT vision and plans in understandable terms throughout the organization
  • Manage or participate in new IT implementations (for example M&As, divestitures, new systems or networks)
  • Acts as liaison with IT stakeholders for troubleshooting to investigate, analyze, solve, and test problems/tickets and map Armada business requirements, processes and objectives to infrastructure design and configuration
  • Provide support and development to employees through performance management, coaching, motivation, and training

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct management of 2-5 IT technical and management resources focused on systems administration and networking support
  • Direct contracting and management of third-party resources providing IT services to Armada

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information systems, business management, computer science or closely related field, or equivalent experience
  • Ten (10)+ years of experience demonstrating progressive technical management experience in
  • IT infrastructure background with depth in either networking or systems administration, with overall broad knowledge
  • Ability to collaborate with peers in the IT organization to set priorities, policies, and procedures
  • Understanding of financial management as it relates to IT infrastructure
  • Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Ability to monitor or assess the performance of yourself, others, and the organization to make improvements or take corrective action
  • Ability to drive and lead process change & present results at highest levels in the organization

Language and Technical Skills Requirements:

  • Understanding of core infrastructure
    • Linux
    • Windows Server
    • Domains
  • Understanding of Hypervisors
    • Nutanix
    • VMware
  • Understanding of Network implementations
    • WAN
    • LAN (including VLAN, ACL, and segmentation)
    • Wi-Fi
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity
