About the Department
The mission of the NC State University Department of Athletics is to prepare student-athletes to compete at the highest level and to inspire them to be leaders now and for the future by providing the best environment to achieve their athletic, academic, and personal aspirations as well as providing support for the professional development of our coaches and staff, all within the role of the greater institutional relationships to the University. NC State University Athletics competes as a NCAA Division 1A Collegiate in the ACC. This unit is the Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving team.
Essential Job Duties
Serve as Head Diving Coach and Asstistant Swimming Coach for NC State Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving teams. Direct all aspects of the diving program, including planning and conducting practices, conditioning, and recruiting. The Head Diving Coach will assist the Head Swimming Coach with travel arrangements and event management.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Assists with the scouting and recruitment of student-athletes, to include assisting with on-campus visits of prospective student-athletes.
  • Assists in coaching student-athletes and evaluating their performance in practice and competition.
  • Monitors the conditioning and training of student-athletes.
  • Assists in monitoring the academic progress and eligibility status of student-athletes. Maintains statistics; interfaces with officials.
  • Participates in public relations activities, as approved.
  • Assists with budget preparations and operates within approved budget allocations.
  • Handles travel arrangements as assigned.
  • Participate in clinics, exhibitions and camps, as approved.
  • Attends appropriate coaches meetings.
  • Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program.
Other Responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned by Head Swimming & Diving Coach and Administration.
Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
Other Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant coaching experience.
  • A knowledge and commitment to the compliance with ACC, NCAA, and University guidelines are required.
  • Candidate should possess the expertise as well as the passion necessary to teach, coach, and compete at the highest levels of collegiate diving.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • 3 years of Collegiate Coaching Experience
Required License(s) or Certification(s)
  • All coaches must take a NCAA Coach's Certification exam annually. The test must be passed in order for a coach to recruit off-campus. This certification is done through the NCAA.
Valid NC Driver's License required No
Commercial Driver's License required No
