Company Overview

The College of Saint Rose is a progressive community of scholars focused on gaining knowledge and applying what they’ve learned to make the world around them better. Located in the heart of Albany, the New York state capital, Saint Rose offers a private, independent, coeducational college experience in a vibrant urban setting.

Founded in 1920 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Saint Rose has remained true to its mission of not only preparing students for their careers but also preparing them for life.

Mission

The College of Saint Rose community engages highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students in rigorous educational experiences. In the progressive tradition of the founding Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, we welcome students from all religious and cultural backgrounds. In addition to developing their intellectual capacities, students have the opportunity to cultivate their creative and spiritual gifts in a diverse learning community that fosters integrity, interdependence, and mutual respect.

The College delivers distinctive and comprehensive liberal arts and professional programs that inspire our graduates to be productive adults, critical thinkers, and motivated, caring citizens. Our engagement with the urban environment expands the setting for educational opportunities and encourages the Saint Rose community’s energetic involvement and effective leadership in society.

Saint Rose Statement on Integrity

Honesty, trust, respect, fairness, responsibility, and the free exchange of ideas form the foundation of integrity that supports the entire community at The College of Saint Rose. Faculty, staff, administrators, and students embrace these ideals in all their interactions and communications. Members of the Saint Rose community are committed to developing and implementing clear and fair institutional policies, standards, and practices, applied equitably and humanely. In keeping with its mission, The College of Saint Rose creates a culture that continually fosters the development of personal integrity and promotes ethical behavior throughout the larger society.

Careers

Whether we serve in a faculty, administrative or staff position, each employee has a passion for supporting the mission of the College -- ensuring that each student has a fulfilling educational experience.

Community
Our employees enjoy a close-knit community based on the values of honesty, trust, respect, fairness, responsibility and the free exchange of ideas.

We have many opportunities to become involved in the mission of the College-by serving on academic and non-academic committees, by serving as mentors for first year students, by participating in campus gatherings and volunteering in a variety of roles at our annual Commencement ceremonies each May.

Volunteering
We can include everyone because we are a small community. Yet we are big enough to make a difference. Employees eagerly volunteer during Reach Out Saint Rose to help our neighbors in the Capital Region and show their compassion by participating in our annual Relay for Life.

Recognition
We celebrate employee accomplishments at the annual awards program, where employees are recognized for superior performance and for their continuous service. We come together during the year for holiday parties, summer picnics, and ice-cream socials as well as recognizing special College events.

Inclusive Values
Guided by our founders and continuing sponsors, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Carondelet, the College is proud of its mission of service to the urban community.  As an institution that values inclusion, we seek to attract and employ individuals who reflect the cultural diversity found within our student body, and across the nation and globe.
